United Way Campaign Kicks Off with Spirit of St. Lucie Awards

Non-profits Invited to Recruit at Volunteer Fair
Nonprofit organizations are invited to participate in a Volunteer Fair to take place on Friday, October 28th, 2011, from 10am-2pm at the Treasure Coast Hospice Center in Fort Pierce. The event, hosted by Volunteer St. Lucie, will provide an opportunity for agencies that count on volunteer help to showcase their organizations.

New Board Chair to Lead United Way into its 50th Year
Julie Bland, Operations Area Manager for QVC, St. Lucie, assumed the position of Board Chair for the United Way of St. Lucie County as of July 1, 2011. Bland has served on the Board of Directors since 2008 and has been an active participant in the Community Assessment process for numerous years.

United Way Enlisting Help to Support Education in St. Lucie County
Stuff the bag is a new slogan for the School Supplies for Students program sponsored by United Way of St. Lucie County. Donors can fill bags or boxes with new school supplies and return to the United Way office or a community drop off site for sorting and packing.
