United Way Elects New Board Officers — Five New Board Members Welcomed Onboard

The official installation of the board officers and members was on June 12th during the Annual Trustees’ Dinner held at Hilton Garden Inn PGA Village. Roger Thomas of Florida Power & Light/IBEW was elected Chairman of the Board after his many years of service on the board as an executive committee member. The remaining officers elected for 2008-2009 are: Terri Sloan-Bartz from Seacoast National Bank was elected Vice Chair; Linnes Finney, Esq. of Gary, Williams, Finney, Lewis, Watson & Sperando, P.L. was elected Secretary; Laura Maloney of Stikelether & Associates, PA was elected Treasurer; and Sharon Kelly-Brown of Sharon J. Coggin Managers to Pucker Up for a Good Cause
~Managers Keep Promise to Kiss a Pig for Meeting Their Campaign Goal~

This Friday, (May 23rd) the Coggin Acura and Coggin BMW locations in Fort Pierce will celebrate meeting their United Way campaign goal with a country western luncheon and some interesting entertainment: the managers will kiss a pig to kick start the luncheon.

Coggin Automotive Group gave their employees a very motivating incentive to contribute to their United Way campaign this year: all locations that were able to raise an average of $75 per employee would get a reward lunch, be allowed to dress down in jeans for a day, and the managers of the location would have to kiss a pig. The Coggin Acura and Coggin BMW locations in Fort Pierce are 2 of the 4 locations that were able to reach this milestone campaign goal. ...read more.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY ALLOCATES FEDERAL FUNDS AWARDED UNDER THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM

St. Lucie County has been chosen to receive $122,871 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. The selection was made by a National Board that is chaired by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and consists of representatives from American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; The Salvation Army; United Jewish Communities and United Way of America. The Local Board is charged to distribute funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas around the country. ...read more.

United Way Campaign Kickoff Celebrates 45 Years of Caring — Sets $1.9 Million Fundraising Goal

United Way of St. Lucie County officially launched its 2007-2008 fundraising campaign with a luncheon on Tuesday, October 9th at the Pelican Yacht Club. The main event of the kickoff was the announcement of the $1.9 million fundraising goal for the year by Campaign Chair Terri Sloan-Bartz, Vice President for Seacoast National Bank and member of the United Way Board of Directors.
