Wednesday, July 10, 2019

Fort Pierce, FL – United Way of St. Lucie County has completed another successful fundraising campaign and is now set to invest significant funding in programs that will work throughout the year to improve the education, financial stability and health of individuals and families in St. Lucie County. “We are grateful to everyone who gave to the campaign in support of our mission. We have a lot to be grateful for St. Lucie County, and it is rewarding to see so many individuals and businesses giving back,” said County Administrator and 2018-2019 Campaign Chair Howard Tipton. This year, United Way of St. Lucie County raised $1,528,829, and on May 29, 2019, the top five fundraising organizations were recognized: Publix and Publix Super Markets Charities, Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club, St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, Florida Power & Light, and the City of Port St. Lucie. “Investing donor dollars where they will do the most good is a vital part of our work,” said Karen Knapp, CEO. “The agencies we fund must address key community issues identified by United Way in the areas of Education, Financial Stability and Health. We are proud to say that last year, United Way and the United Way Funded Partners provided over 200,000 services to residents in St. Lucie County.”
